Music Time Annual General Meeting April 2017
The Music Time Annual General Meeting 2017 (AGM) will be held at The Quaker Rooms (own carpark), Quaker Lane (off Woodlands) Beverley, HU17 8BY, on Wednesday 5th April 2017, from 7:30-9:30 pm. The committee members will be reporting on the past year and any future plans. This is a public meeting, so all are welcome to observe and ask questions. We hope that especially people who attend Music Time will join us, so they can find out more about our charity, the committee and perhaps get more involved in running it.
South Cave Music Time back in Family Centre
18/11/16 Our South Cave Music Time moved back into the refurbished and extended South Cave All Saints Church Family Centre. We had been in the church for several months awaiting completion of the works. The new family centre feels very comfortable. Come and join our musician Sue and her friendly group every term-time Friday morning at either 9:30 or 10:40.
Market Weighton Group Closed
Due to a change of circumstances, the Music Time group in Market Weighton was closed from the second week in February 2016. We hope that you all enjoyed this group, and we ask any disappointed members to join one of our other groups nearby such as Beverley. If you would like us to consider starting a group in your area, please get in touch.
Music Time Annual General Meeting April 2015
The Music Time Annual General Meeting 2015 (AGM) was held at our Chair's home in Beverley, at 8pm, on Tuesday 14th April 2015.
Various members of the committee reported on their areas of responsibility. Overall the reports were good, with room for improvement in some areas. Volunteers are invited to apply for the positions of Chair Person, Secretary, and Waiting List Co-ordinator. We are also looking for a musician based near the East Coast. It is likely that we will provide some Summer sessions during the holidays. Please check our Facebook page for further updates.
Musicians - Introduce Yourself!
Music Time receives many requests for one-off sessions.
Our regular musicians have very busy schedules, so we are looking for an additional musician, ideally experienced in working with toddlers - accompanied by their parents/carers, who can help us promote and run Music Time sessions across the East riding of Yorkshire.
If you would like to be considered for one or more of these one-off sessions, and a possibility to work as one of our regular musicians / group leaders, get in touch with us by email, and tell us a little about yourself, what instruments you play, and what relevant experience you have. We look forward to seeing your emails. (email us)
Music Time Extra Sessions in Beverley 2014
This Autumn, Music Time trialled Music Time Extra sessions.
The turnout was good, so we may try more sessions in 2015.
There were two trial sessions, specifically for 4 - 7 year olds at;
Quaker Rooms, Quaker Lane, Beverley, HU17 8BY
Dates: Saturday mornings 20th September + 18th October
Time: 10.30 - 11.30am
Adult needed to stay throughout the session
We are unable to accommodate younger siblings
Music Time Annual General Meeting March 2014
The Music Time Annual General Meeting 2014 (AGM) was held at our Chair's home in Beverley, at 8pm, on Thursday 6th March 2014.
Overall the committee members were able to report good news, such as increasing website visitors, enquiries, group attendances, and lower overheads. Unfortunately we had to close the Beverley Quaker Hall, Wednesday 10:30 group, due to low demand.
Most of the committee members were re-elected, and we welcomed our new Waiting List Co-ordinator Adriana Tyreman, but unfortunately we are looking for a new Treasurer, as Nuan Wilcox will be leaving Yorkshire at the end of March. We wish her all the best in her new home. Please let us know as soon as possible if you could be our next Treasurer (Role Description), or if you know someone who could help us fill this important roll for our charity.
Please email us, if you would like to ask questions, make suggestions, or volunteer.

The new venue is near St. Mary's Primary School, and Mount Pleasant Junior School.
Market Weighton Here We Come!
Due to popular demand, Music Time is starting a music playgroup in Market Weighton. From Thursday the 26th September, our group will meet at 10am, in the Wellbeing Centre, 80 York Road, Market Weighton, YO43 3EF. The first Music Time session will be FREE, and suitable for children between the ages of 0-4 years old. Parents, carers, and childminders are all welcome, and afterwards there should be an opportunity to chat over a cuppa. Sue will be our resident musician. Here is one of Sue's music playgroup clips; See you there!
Off to a Flying Start
The Music Time groups across East Yorkshire are off to a flying start. September is always a month of many changes, as older children leave the groups to go to school, and younger children join for the first time. Most groups are reporting lots of new faces, and several are full already. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are thinking of joining, so we can check if a place is still available, or to add you to our waiting list. Do you live in an area without a Music Time group? Please let us know, so we can look at starting a new group.
Market Weighton Music Time Group?
Following several requests, we are looking at the possibility of starting a Music Time group in Market Weighton. If you, or someone you know are interested in joining or help run your own music group, led by Sue, one of our musicians, please email or phone us today.
Each group needs between 12 and 15 members to be viable. Please mention our plans to any parents, carers, or childminders you know, who have children in the 0-4 age-group, in or near Market Weighton.
Music Time Promotion Event 31st August
September and the start of term is just around the corner. We would like to make sure that local parents, carers, and childminders are aware of the various Music Time groups, so we would like your help with this Music Time promotion.
At 10am on Saturday the 31st August several of us will gather at Thomas Carter's house in Beverley, for a poster and leaflet distribution marathon in Beverley - weather permitting. Afterwards there will be a family BBQ (Bring & Share).
If you can't make it to Beverley, or would prefer to promote your group more locally, please contact Gil, our Publicity Officer, on 07759.015565 to request leaflets and posters.
Thank you all for your help.
Summer Holiday Music Sessions
Due to popular demand, some groups are running regular Music Time Summer Holiday Sessions at two of our established venues (Beverley Minster + Cottingham Civic Hall) during July and August.
If you bring one or more babies, or toddlers along (0-4yrs), costs are just £3.25 per session, per family. Any additional school-aged children cost £1.50 each.
You can book your session(s) by emailing your preferred session times and dates to info[@]music-time.org, or call 07563 764793.
Click here for Summer Holiday Sessions Dates, Times, and Venues.
Our normal music playgroup schedule will resume the first week in September.
Book your place(s) now, as a few spaces will become available in each venue, when some toddlers go to school in September.

Music Time Committee Meeting April 2013
Our committee meeting was held in Beverley on Thursday 11th April.
Present: Katy Cobb, Gil van der Sluis, Sue Newton, Nuan Wilcox, Thomas Carter.
There has been an increase in enquiries from parents, but only a joint effort to spread the word about Music Time, and cost reductions, will ensure that children and their carers in the East Riding can continue to enjoy these popular sessions. Anyone who knows a suitable local venue to display our leaflets or posters, especially in the Beverley area, please contact Gil van der Sluis via email@example.com
We Are Remembering - Mandy Hoey
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mandy Hoey, long-standing group-rep for one of the South Cave MusicTime groups. After a gruelling year of invasive treatment she finally lost her battle against cancer. Mandy was one of those inspiring, generous people who live life to the full. If it was Mandy's turn to do coffee duties, we knew we were in for a treat with some delicious cake, or tray bake. She would go out of her way to help people, and used her baking skills to raise a considerable amount of money for her favourite charities; Cancer Research, MacMillan, and Music Time. Mandy will be very fondly remembered, and we would like to pass on our heartfelt sympathies to her husband, four beautiful daughters, and also her mother Anne, who took over her group-rep role while Mandy was in hospital, and who continues to bring Mandy's twin daughters, Poppy and Daisy.
